Video: Shrinking the divide between the inner city and the suburbs

On October 13th, 2012, CCPA-MB facilitated an intergenerational learning and youth exchange at Thunderbird House in Winnipeg. In attendance were four elders and 30 students from Community Education Development Association's (CEDA) Pathways to Education program, and from College Beliveau and Grant Park High School. The event was created to bring together people who would otherwise not meet in person, to share ideas, and to talk about things that are often not talked about openly in Winnipeg. For the purposes of the event, participants were asked to talk about racism and their perceptions of experiences in the inner city. By engaging youth in dialogue the hope was to shrink the divide between people who live in the inner city and those who live in the suburbs.
