Celebrating International Women's Day

Fun fact: Did you know 69 per cent of the staff at the CCPA are women?

In the past year the CCPA has been proud to publish two major books that focus on women's knowledge and empowerment.

In Speaking Truth to Power: A reader on Canadian women's inequality, the book's authors celebrate gains made through feminism, but urge the women’s movement to renew and strengthen its fight for economic, social, and political parity: goals that have yet to be fully realised in Canada.

Feminism FOR REAL:Deconstructing the academic industrial complex of feminism takes a critical look at traditional notions of feminism, particularly through the lense of racialized and marginalized groups.

Against a backdrop exposing a 500+ year legacy of colonization and oppression, Feminism FOR REAL explores what has led us to the existence of “feminism”, who gets to decide what it is, and why.

Support Our Work

The CCPA’s bold vision and creative solutions help us imagine better futures for all. Its efforts to build bridges between labour, industry, and civil society and mentor young activists lay the foundation for realizing those provocative futures. I consider my support for the CCPA an investment in a better future for British Columbia.
