Whistler Forum for Leadership and Dialogue

Thursday, May 19, 2011, 7:30pm - 9:00pm

In spite of its upscale image, Whistler's population includes a large number of people with low incomes, including many seasonal workers in the tourism industry.

Seth Klein will discuss ways of addressing this problem in his talk, "Living Wages in Sustainable Communities: Taking Leadership on Affordability." Seth will discuss the concept of a living wage and lessons learned from Metro Vancouver's Living Wage for Families campaign.

Presented by the Whistler Forum's Leadership Sea to Sky Cohort VII, the CCPA and the Trudeau Foundation. Recommended for community and political leaders, business leaders and Whistler 2020 Task Force members (especially from Resident Affordability, Economic and Finance committees), although the event is open to everyone.

Welcome to the BC Office

Seth Klein

“When the CCPA British Columbia Office opened in 1997, we dove into BC’s public policy debates head first, backed by the solid research and expertise CCPA is known for. We’ve been at it ever since, challenging the message that there is no alternative, and showing that a more just, caring and sustainable society is possible.”
