Luncheon with Speaker Richard Wilkinson - The Age of Unequals

Thursday, Dec 9, 2010, 11:45am - 12:15pm
The Consequences of Growing Inequality
Between the mid-1990s and the mid-2000s, income inequality grew faster in Canada than in all but one of 17 leading developed countries, according to the Conference Board of Canada's 2010 performance report.  How will that affect Canada’s future?

Come hear Richard Wilkinson, one of Britain's leading social epidemiologists and co-author of the groundbreaking, international bestseller The Spirit Level: Why Equality is Better for Everyone, address the issues in his first public appearance in Canada.  Based on thirty years’ of research, The Spirit Level is forcing governments on both sides of the Atlantic to seriously rethink their policies towards social deprivation, crime, healthcare and education.
