New academic research on minimum wage

Two new studies on the impact of increases in minimum wage are now available. Brochu and Green find that Minimum-wage increases are associated with a lower probability that a job will end, and with a lower probability that an unemployed person will find work. The next report by Arindrajit Dube of UMass Amherst discusses the recent debate on whether or not minimum wage helps ameliorate poverty. Dube's conclusions point to some important broader implications of using minimum wage as an important tool to complement other poverty-reduction policies.
