The Power of Good Ideas: 2020 in Review

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we asked where we could be the most helpful. Then we rolled up our sleeves and never looked back.

This past year, we've worked tirelessly to support and advocate for employees affected by pandemic closures, for essential workers when their hero pay ended while their billionaire bosses continued to rake in record profits, for staff and residents in long-term care homes in need of greater protections.

As the year winds down, we wanted to take a moment to show you some of what we've managed to achieve with your support.

Here are just some highlights from our year:

Not only has our work been read by hundreds of thousands of Canadians, it has had an impact on many more.

Our continued analysis of the CERB/EI program put pressure on the federal government to raise the support rates to $500/week, ensuring that workers and their families could cover their bills even during these uncertain times.

That’s the power of good ideas put into action. We know that Canada has the ability to overcome the challenges ahead and that good ideas are vital to finding workable solutions.

For forty years, we’ve worked to make a more equitable, sustainable future for everyone who calls Canada home. And it’s through the help of supporters like you that these ideas spread and take root.

Invest in our work to help us spread good ideas even further in 2021.
