Join the CCPA-Nova Scotia office on November 5th as we celebrate another year of promoting progressive policy alternatives. Taking place at Mount Saint Vincent University, our annual fundraiser gala will feature live music, a delicious dinner, and great conversation. The evening’s guest speaker will be Megan Leslie.
Many Atlantic Canadians will remember Megan Leslie as the former Member of Parliament for Halifax and Deputy Leader of the Official Opposition. She is now President and CEO of World Wildlife Fund-Canada (WWF-Canada), where she is leading the organization’s 10-year conservation plan to Regenerate Canada. She will join us for a compelling conversation about the lessons she’s learned as an elected official and in her new role, working to drive policy and systems change to address the climate crisis and build a more sustainable and just Canada.
We are thrilled to welcome musical duo Hammer & Sichel at this year’s gala! Joanne Hussey and Ben Sichel are a local folk duo who play familiar songs with a pro-worker twist.
Where: Mount Saint Vincent University, Multipurpose Room, Rosaria Student Centre, 131 Lumpkin Road, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
When: Thursday, November 5th. Doors open at 6:00 pm. The event begins at 6:30 pm.
When you register, you will have the option to choose either a pan-fried chicken breast with rosemary jus and wild mushroom and parmesan risotto, or a chimichurri-rubbed cauliflower steak with white bean puree and spiced chickpeas as your main course. For in-person tickets, you will receive a donation receipt minus the cost of the dinner.
There is also an option to join online for the main event programme. Closed captioning will be available for online attendees. With online ticket purchase, the event link will be sent to you a few days before the event, with reminders. Get your tickets now before it sells out!

- Individual ticket purchases will receive charitable income tax receipts for the ticket price minus the costs. Please indicate your choice of food and any dietary restrictions or allergies.

- Note that this ticket purchase is online only. After you purchase the ticket, the fundraiser organizer will email you to forward the link for viewing and the Event agenda. Individual ticket purchasers will receive charitable income tax receipts for the entire cost.
About Megan Leslie
Megan Leslie was the Member of Parliament for Halifax for two terms (2008-15) during which she was deputy leader of the Official Opposition, environment critic and vice-chair of the government committee on environment and sustainable development. She also held critic portfolios in housing and health. She is currently the President & CEO of World Wildlife Fund-Canada and and on the board of directors of ArcticNet (Canadian Arctic and Northern Research). Megan is the proud recipient of an Honourary Degree from Mount Saint Vincent University.
