About the authors
Jean Kavanagh manages the CCPA-BC’s media outreach and publication production. She has extensive communications experience in the non-profit and government sectors including at the David Suzuki Foundation and Vancouver Public Library. Jean came to communications work from a career in journalism locally, nationally and internationally, including covering civil wars in El Salvador and Guatemala. She has won journalism and communications awards, and is passionate about telling stories that need to be heard. Follow Jean on Twitter
Emira is the CCPA BC Office Associate Director. She is the author of The Boss of You, a book for women leaders and entrepreneurs.
Terra Poirier is the CCPA-BC’s Senior Designer and Communications Specialist. In addition to her communications work, she works with authors to produce a range of accessible materials including infographics, videos and slideshows.
Shannon is the director of CCPA-BC and co-director of the Corporate Mapping Project. Her research interests include social movements, framing, environmental communication, corporate power and democratic capacity. Outside her day-to-day work life at CCPA, Shannon has taught in the School of Communication and Culture at Royal Roads University, and volunteered as a board member with organizations like the Wilderness Committee, CCEC Credit Union and the Vancouver Public Library.
