CCPA-NS turns 10

The CCPA-NS’ second annual fundraising gala and 10th anniversary celebration (November 20) was a great success with good food, an excellent speaker and dancing to live music. The founding director of CCPA-NS, John Jacobs came back to Halifax to reflect on CCPA-NS’ successes, reminding us how important it is to create the needed space for democratic debate and dialogue no matter which political party is in power. Rita Deverell CCPA-NS FundraiserDr. Rita Deverell spoke eloquently and with a sense of humour about her experiences creating space for diverse voices in media. She challenged the crowd to think about how we can best move forward to ensure that the airwaves are inherited not by a select few. Thanks to everyone for making this gala a great event.

Support Our Work

The CCPA’s bold vision and creative solutions help us imagine better futures for all. Its efforts to build bridges between labour, industry, and civil society and mentor young activists lay the foundation for realizing those provocative futures. I consider my support for the CCPA an investment in a better future for British Columbia.
